RTX 5070 vs RTX 5070 Ti: Is the Ti Worth It in 2027?
The RTX 5070 Ti is 24% faster than the RTX 5070 on our performance index, and it has 16GB of video memory where the 5070 has 12GB. The Ti launched at $749, which is $200 above the 5070's $549.
Both cards come from the same RTX 50 generation with the same feature set, so the choice comes down to three things: how much the extra speed is worth to you, whether 12GB will be enough for the games you plan to play, and how long you intend to keep the card.

"Recommended specs met" counts the games whose recommended graphics card each GPU matches or beats. It covers the 19 games from 2024 onward in our catalogue that name a recommended card, and the 16 unreleased games whose publishers have posted one.
Speed: how big is the gap?
A 24% lead on the index is roughly the difference between a game holding a steady frame rate and dipping below it at the same settings. The more useful test is what each card clears. Among 19 recent games that name a recommended card, the RTX 5070 meets 19 and the Ti meets 19. For unreleased games the count is 15 against 16 out of 16.
Only the Ti clears the recommended card for Lords of the Fallen II.
12GB or 16GB of VRAM?
This is the Ti's clearest advantage. Lords of the Fallen II already asks for more than 12GB at the recommended tier, by naming a card with more memory or by stating the figure outright. Recommended specs are usually written with 1080p or 1440p in mind, though. Value and power
At launch prices, the RTX 5070 delivers 11.5 index points per $100 and the Ti delivers 10.4, so the cheaper card gives more performance for each dollar. The Ti's board power is 50W higher (300W against 250W). Check your power supply with the PSU calculator before you switch.
Verdict
- Buy the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 if price per frame matters most, since it returns more performance per dollar, and you play at 1080p or 1440p without maxed-out texture packs.
- Buy the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti if you want to keep the card for years. The 16GB buffer and the 24% extra speed are the two things that age best.
